Violet Willow Cheer – Rainbow High

Today, we take a closer look at Violet Willow from Rainbow High, especially her as a Cheer doll.

I felt really happy when I found this doll on a thrift-store shelf. She is a little messy, her hair is tangled, and she is missing one hand. Even so, she is still beautiful, with long purple hair and still wearing her cheerleading outfit.

But who is Violet Willow? What is Rainbow High? And how did this colorful doll brand become such a recognizable name in the fashion-doll world? Let’s take a look.

Rainbow High is a fashion-doll brand created by MGA Entertainment. This American toy company is also known for brands such as Bratz and L.O.L. Surprise! Rainbow High launched in 2020. It combines fashion dolls with an animated series that gives the characters stories beyond the toy box.

The basic idea is that Rainbow High is an elite school for the visual arts. Its students are creative, ambitious, and passionate about fashion, design, and other artistic talents. Each character has a unique style, often connected to a particular color.

The main group includes six girls: Ruby Anderson in red, Poppy Rowan in orange, Sunny Madison in yellow, Jade Hunter in green, Skyler Bradshaw in blue, and Violet Willow in purple. Together, they represent all the colors of the rainbow. These dolls really stand out. They have big, expressive eyes, long hair that you can brush and style, and detailed outfits. Their bodies move at the joints, so you can pose them in many ways. Fashion is a big part of who they are, but each girl also has her own personality, friendships, and goals.

The animated series premiered on YouTube in 2020. The first season later became available on Netflix in 2021. This made Rainbow High more than a collection of dolls. It became a growing entertainment franchise with characters that fans could follow through their adventures.

Over time, the brand expanded with more characters, different doll sizes, fashion collections, and even Shadow High, a rival school with its own distinctive style.

Meet Violet Willow

And now, let’s talk about Violet. Violet Willow is the purple member of the original Rainbow High group. She is connected to fashion, glamour, and a love of attention. In the animated series, she is also linked to social media and runs her own vlog. This makes her an interesting character for a modern fashion-doll brand, where personal style and online identity often go together.

Violet’s personality can be a little dramatic, and she enjoys being noticed. At the same time, she is part of a group of friends whose stories explore creativity, competition, and teamwork.

Of course, Violet appears in several doll versions over the years. Today, we are looking at her Cheer version.

Violet Willow Cheer

The Rainbow High Cheer dolls give the original characters a cheerleading makeover. The Cheer collection includes the six original characters, and each one wears an outfit that reflects her signature color. Violet wears her hair in a high ponytail with a large purple-and-white bow covered in small shiny details. The hairstyle gives her an energetic look while keeping the glamorous style that is so closely linked to Violet. Her outfit includes a pale purple cheerleading top and a matching pleated skirt. She also wears a translucent, iridescent jacket with bold lettering on the sleeves, although my doll is missing that jacket. She has knee-high white socks with lavender stripes and platform-style shoes in purple, white, and black. The shoes are especially eye-catching, with several straps and decorative details. Violet also comes with two purple pom-poms and a purple comb. The pom-poms complete the cheerleader look, and the comb helps with styling her long hair. Her body is articulated, so she can pose in different positions.

One detail I especially like is the way the design combines sporty clothing with Rainbow High’s love of shine, texture, and statement accessories. This is not a realistic school cheerleading uniform. It is a fashion doll’s interpretation of one.

One interesting thing about Rainbow High is the way the same character can be reimagined without losing her identity.

This is an important part of fashion-doll collecting. A new version does not have to be a completely new character. Sometimes the appeal comes from seeing how a familiar identity appears through a different fashion style.

The Cheer dolls also show how Rainbow High explores themes beyond runway fashion. The characters can dress for school spirit and team activities while still looking like Rainbow High fashion dolls.

For collectors, this creates a chance to compare different versions of the same character. You can look at the hair, face, clothing construction, accessories, and overall styling. This helps you see what changes and what stays recognizable.

Violet works especially well for this kind of variation because purple gives her such a strong visual identity. Even when her outfit changes, that color connects her different versions.

I think this version works best as a mix of sporty styling and the glamorous fashion look that makes Rainbow High recognizable. Look at that transformation! Her purple and silver hair is silky smooth, and its beautiful shine is back. Even with one hand missing, she looks amazing and is ready to display on my shelf.

So, what do I think of Violet Willow Cheer?
